Caution... I offend easily without thinking.

Maybe I should get that tattooed on my forehead... what do you think, colour or black and white?

After reading the lovely comments left on yesterday's post I was quite shocked. I off-handedly (Jinksy, is that even a word?) called everyone who doesn't wear a helmet stupid.. which is a word that I tend to over use. Mostly I was just expressing my frustration about my concern for hubby, not trying to insult the rest of the planet, (should they share his views). I am also not in the habit of calling my hubby stupid, nor do I believe he really IS stupid. I SHOULD have said stuborn, pigheaded, and ignorant... see? There I go again. Needless to say, he usually finds me entertaining and I am not a man-abuser! Please read my posts with a grain of salt, if I tend to rant with colourful language, it is usually meant to entertain and not to hurt. I would never intentionally write something in a public forum to hurt someone else. When I get stressed about something, I tend to develop a sarcastic tone and make a joke out of it... probably not the healthiest coping mechanism, but I like to laugh.

To anyone who may have been offended, my profound appologies. I write to entertain myself, and anyone else who happens to pop in. I am extremely grateful for all of your comments, and your honesty.

People offend easily...even to things like joking. I have the Ed Asner fan club and the blog reading French Canadian speaking blog world sending me hate mail and I generlly write a "comedy" blog...

Keep writing...and laughing.

I read and re-read the comments to yesterday's post, but I couldn't find anyone who really felt offended. Are you just being too sensitive now or am I thick? Anyhoo, you are right of course. It would probably be safer if he wore a helmet.

You know I am a horse rider. I always wear a helmet, which isn't considered cool and it isn't comfortable too. But it is wise. I've seen what can happen if you don't wear a helmet and you fall from your horse and hit your head against something that is harder than the skull. Not a pretty sight. And you don't have to ride a very highly strung horse to fall off. The horse can stumble and fall itself. And it ís an ongoing discussion with people who refuse to protect their head when riding their horse. Aarrgghh. Thát I find stupid too! You have only one head!

I probably am being too sensitive. I haven't slept since last Tuesday, I'm not sure what today is, and I've been out of clean socks since yesterday. On the upside, I'm going home now to get drunk. Have a lovely sunday!

Read this post and the original post on Hubby not wearing a helmet...Before I worked in the NeuroSurgical ICU I could have gone along with his reasoning. After seeing the big damage that can come from a small mistake I cannot. Unfortunately, the brain doesn't have a lot of reserve for traumatic injury. I don't blame you for being worried. Wish Hubby would reconsider.

Thanks for coming by to leave a comment. I see it has been TOO LONG since I've visited! (To be completely honest, my middle aged eyes have trouble reading on the black background. But you've got good stuff, so maybe I'll tough it out :) anyway, I so empathize with what you are saying here! I do the same thing, joke and get sarcastic, esp. when stressed. I think i'm being funny. Unfortunately the only time any one else seems to think I'm funny, is when I am NOT trying to be funny. Sigh.
