I have a confession. I am 27 years old, and I'm addicted to fruit loops cereal.
I know this is wrong... fruit loops is for children right? I mean... there are cartoons on the box, and a free star wars action figure inside... I hope it's Yoda... anyway, it's pure sugary nonsense.
I don't discriminate, I'm addicted to most sugary nonsense cereals. My other favourites are Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Golden Grahams, and Captain Crunch. I also dearly love Honey Combs, and Reese Peanut Butter cereal.
If I had my choice, I would eat cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Other than the fact that there is no nutritional value, other than the milk (although, it IS made with whole grains...), and I'm afraid I'd die of scurvy, I probably would eat it for three meals a day.
Sometimes I am afraid that I will never grow up and will hold on to pieces of my childhood forever, but who could resist the fruity goodness, and wholesome crunch of Fruit Loops? Not this junkie, that's for sure!

Don't beat yourself up too much, Jewels. You are not alone. We can get through this together. I am a fellow 27yo with an addiction to Fruity Pebbles. Yes, that's right, along with a few other sugar-packed boxes of deliciousness. And I have been known to eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the occasional lazy day. Oh, I'm so ashamed! LOL!
I can see my granddaughters going for these, should they ever make it across the pond without getting too soggy.
Trisha, I LOVE fruity pebbles, but haven't seen them in Canada since I was little. Perhaps a trip to Detroit is in order...
Jinksy,
No fruit loops across the pond? How sad. I'm sure there is an equivalent of some kind for your grandaughters to enjoy.
Junkies of the world, unite!!!!! Love this post!!!! You have an irristably wonderful writing "voice!" Thanks for visiting me! I am honored! Personally, I can't pass up anything with a colorful Toucan on it...your blog will certainly call me back...Cheers!
Jewels, we don't get Fruit Loops here, but I have been known to eat Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes, and other cereals instead of dinner/supper - Definitely - Quite good for calcium in our bones (v. important as women) too! x
Woman of No Importance (I'd use your real name... but I'm afraid of spelling it wrong and I keep forgetting to write it down... grrrr). Mmmmm Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes. That sounds divine.
Sniffles and Smiles, thanks for the visit! Your blog is lovely!
No worries maties' (and all others). I am a grand father of six and find a bowl of coco krispies (puffs) or Tonys frosted flakes the bomb! I'm thinking of a snack bowl right now.
You shouldn't feel guilty at all. You're getting your daily requirements of dairy, milk, whole grains, and fruit. No need to feel loopy about it.

No Fruit Loops here (have you noticed the huge ! on the box by the way?) and none of the other things you mentioned either (as far as I know, but I'm not known for my huge knowledge of cereal). And if that is the only thing you are addicted to, apart from the callorific coffee bombs, you need not worry. And fruit is healthy isn't it? So 'fruit loops' must be really good for you. Feel better now?
Hugs xx
mmmm fruit. I do feel better now!
